Harmonix announces Rock Band Rivals

Also announced is a Fender Jaguar guitar controller.

Harmonix revealed yesterday that Rock Band 4 expansion pack Rock Band Rivals will be available in autumn.

The expansion is set to bring "something truly unique" with "brand new features that have never been seen in Rock Band before". Harmonix said they couldn't wait to reveal more information about the new game modes in the future.

Also revealed was a new controller in the form of a blue Fender Jaguar guitar from PDP. "It's got a highly sensitive tilt sensor for perfect Overdrive deployment, and an improved strum bar for increased precision at high speeds. The auto-calibration light sensor allows less ambient light than previous guitars, which means auto-calibrating is more accurate and will get you playing faster. Aside from all of the classic features this new guitar will come with, it's got one that really seals the deal: it's foldable. That's right, you read that correctly. Our newest Rock Band peripheral is a foldable guitar".

Also announced was a charger for the guitar, as well as a Rock Band 4 Wired Legacy Adaptor for Xbox One which is compatible with certain legacy controllers.

Information of various bundles to be available were given, too. The Rock Band Rivals Wireless Jaguar Bundle is set to include Rock Band 4 software with the Rock Band Rivals expansion pack and one Fender Jaguar guitar controller for $89.99 USD. The Rock Band Rivals Band Kit will include Rock Band 4 software with the Rock Band Rivals expansion pack, one Fender Jaguar guitar controller, one Rock Band 4 drum kit, and one microphone for the price $199.99 USD. All of the hardware bundles will be available for both PS4 and Xbox One. Both the Fender Jaguar Guitar and the Wired Legacy Adapter will also be available for purchase separately.

The Rock Band Rivals expansion pack will also be released as a standalone digital download for $29.99 USD. They said international pricing will be revealed soon.
