It has been confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians will not come with multiplayer favourite Big Team Battle when it launches later this year, which left some fans displeased with the decision.

343 Industries has since responded to the criticism via producer Josh Holmes, who explained that "Warzone is the evolution of Big Team Battle, on steroids."

This Halo 5 mode puts 24 players, divided into two teams, into confrontations that'll take place across the biggest multiplayer maps seen in the Halo series thus far.

Even if players don't really appreciate Warzone, Holmes also confirmed that the studio will eventually be adding the more "traditional" Big Team Battle via DLC, but without mentioning any dates (or potential cost).

Halo. 5: Guardians will be released on October 27, exclusively on Xbox One, and you can read all the details regarding the new Warzone mode right here.
