The popular MMO Rift has been hit by a case of data intrusion, developer Trion Worlds writes on their website. Hackers have gained illegal access to a database containing info such as usernames, encrypted passwords, birth dates, and the first and last four digits of credit card numbers as well as the associated expiration dates.

Before you start to panic, note that Trion Worlds assures everyone that the hackers have not gained access to any complete credit card info.

As a preemptive meassure, Trion Worlds have elected to reset all players' passwords, meaning you will have to pick a new one and update your security questions the next time you log in.

To make up for the inconveniance, all Rift owners will get three days of free play time, as well as the in-game item Moneybags' Purse, which increases the amount of money looted by ten percent.
