With a massive 86 tracks on the disc for the upcoming Guitar Hero World Tour we decided to pick our personal picks. Do you agree with our assessments, or are we out of our rocking minds?
Bengt's 5 picks:
Interpol - "Obstacle 1" I'm a huge fan of Interpol and I can't wait the rock out to this weird tune "She can read, she can read, she can read, she's bad - Oh, she's bad".
Jimi Hendrix - "Purple Haze (live)" This track will be so much fun to play on the guitar I'm getting giddy just thinking about it...
Kent - "Vinternoll2" One of the Swedish band's better rock songs, and a not very obvious choice since it was only released on an EP, but it was chosen to go on Guitar Hero World Tour by the band themselves.
Foo Fighters - "Everlong" What can I say? I'm a sucker for rock anthems... "If everything could ever feel this real forever - If anything could ever be this good again". Yeah, it feels good that Everlong is in the next Guitar Hero.
Smashing Pumpkins - "Today" It might not be the best choice for a Pumpkins song in Guitar Hero, but the melodic anthem will always have a special meaning to me.
Petter's 5 picks:
Billy Idol - "Rebel Yell" It's Billy. It's the Rude Dude himself. I just know that I will be playing this track over and over again. Billy rocks. That's the truth.
Creedence Clearwater Revival - "Up Around The Bend" An old roommate of mine used to play a Best of CCR-album on repeat for weeks, so consider me brainwashed. But they are one of the greatest bands of the 60's.
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Sweet Home Alabama (Live)" It's a classic, it's a great song to play at a Guitar Hero party. Get me a beer and a bandana and I'm set for the night.
Tool - "Parabola" I would've prefered a song from the first A Perfect Circle-album, but Parabola is still one of the greatest songs from the Lateralus-album. Those guitars, people!
Metallica - "Trapped Under Ice" Trapped Under Ice is a terrible, terrible Metallica-song, but I know I will feel like I'm 11 again, rocking out alone in my room.
