10 Chambers Collective has released a brand new video for their game GTFO, which is aiming for an Early Access release on Steam later this year, introducing a concept where the game is updated with new levels replacing the previous ones, as part of what's called The Rundown.
The video in question talks us through The Rundown, and in the game the players are scavengers held captive by The Warden, giving you a work order including various objectives. The Rundown represents this work order, showing a menu divided into deep tiers, with harder expeditions unlocking as you get deeper into the Complex.
"Each work order in the Rundown represents an expedition into a different part of the Complex where the environment, the population of monsters, the objective, and other conditions can all be vastly different and offer diverse gaming experiences", said developer Simon Viklund.
There's a countdown timer on The Rundown as well, and when that expires objectives are replaced with new ones. The aim is to keep the game fresh and dynamic while encouraging players to focus on the same goals, and here's what 10 Chambers Collective founder Ulf Andersson had to say about it:
"GTFO's Early Access phase will be exciting - we will test this Rundown concept: How many expeditions should be in a Rundown versus how long it lasts, what kinds of flavors different expedition can have, etcetera. It will be a period of trials and experimentation that we think will be very interesting for the hardcore co-op gamer crowd who also want to follow the game's development closely", said Ulf Andersson, founder of 10 Chambers Collective.
Does The Rundown sound like a good idea?
