Before last weekend all eyes were fixed on either the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, the various esports events happening around the globe, or the infected New York City of The Division.

Cloaked by this trio, developer Grip Digital slipped out an announcement: Along with Right Nice they are working on a new platform game called Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island.

Although Right Nice is an unknown developer from Stockholm, Sweden, Grip Digital is the team behind the upcoming and promising The Solus Project. Skylar & Plux is a single-player experience, and it's coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016.

In a press release sent to us, Eric Valentine, level designer and narrative director at Right Nice Games, and Jakub Mikyska, CEO of GRIP Digital, describe the game as follows:

"Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island is a passionate homage to the 3D platformers of our youth. Go on an action packed adventure, collecting gadgets helping you explore a beautiful paradise and save it from evil," said Valentine.

"Anyone who enjoys the classic 3D platformers like Crash Bandicoot or the Jak and Daxter series will instantly fall in love with Skylar & Plux. There's a lot of personality and humor, colorful characters and hours of great gameplay for the fans of the genre, as well as newcomers to the 3D platformer games," added Mikyska.
