Last year, Microsoft changed their web browser Edge to the Chromium standard (same as Chrome), which led to a lot better compatibility with just about everything. Soon this browser is about to be launched for the Xbox consoles as well, and the Alpha Skip-Ahead group has actually already got it.
It is by no means finished, but as some users have noticed, it is capable of running Stadia already, which isn't all that strange considering that Chromium is a Google Standard. As it supports the Xbox One controller, you can just lean back and play Stadia titles on your Xbox. Ironically enough, that means a competitors streaming service is available on Microsoft's consoles before Xbox Cloud Gaming for browsers has been launched.
It's worth pointing out that the Xbox Edge browser opens up other possibilities as well such as better usage of services like GeForce Now, Discord and other browser-based games. It remains to be seen how this will be handled in the future, could it be possible to play Amazon Luna on an Xbox? What about PlayStation Now?
