The women's esports scene is steadily growing, thanks to the efforts of all-women's events that promote and encourage diversity in the esports sector. Following the announcement of Red Bull Instalock yesterday, GonnaNeedMilk has now upped the game significantly by revealing The Milk Cup.

This will be a women's only Fortnite tournament where the best female stars come together to compete in a slate of events in the hunt for a slice of a $250,000 prize pool. The event will be held in North America and will actually be the largest prize pool ever put up for an all-women's esports tournament to date.

As for how the tournament will be structured, there will be three Majors in May, June, and July, with offline qualifiers just before each. The top 11 teams from each Major will qualify for a LAN Finals sometime this autumn, with the exact date and venue still set to be revealed.

What we do know is that each Major will have a $25,000 prize pool, leaving $175,000 on the table for the LAN Finals.

Will you be tuning into The Milk Cup?
