Ghost Recon Online competition

Free-to-play event starts next week.

Ubisoft has announced a competition for their free-to-play tactical shooter, Ghost Recon Online. Working in conjunction with the Electronic Sports League (ESL), the competition will start on Sunday 15th September, and players have until 14.00 on that date to register.

What follows is a 7-week series of matches, with mini-cups awarded each week. The four teams with the most points at the end will then take part in continental playoffs. More details here.

Also coming to the game on September 12 are new tier 8 weapons (including the Nemesis 50 sniper rifle and SPAS-12 semi-auto shotgun). Arriving alongside the next update is the ATHENA Council; which is to be made up of players and developers and is to be a platform for communication between the two groups.
