It's like me saying I'm going to win an Oscar after landing on the Moon.

George mate, we love you, we really do, but can you just focus on one thing for five minutes? Joking aside, a lot of fans are often eagerly searching the blog of fantasy author George R.R. Martin for updates on Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring, the two books that should finally wrap up his Song of Ice and Fire saga.

In a new blog post, Martin does confirm that works is still going ahead with Winds of Winter. In a way, at least. Mostly, he's writing about the new HBO spin-off show, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which adapts his novella The Hedge Knight.

As he's excited about the upcoming show, Martin reveals he can't wait to sit down and write more Dunk & Egg stories, but he at least tells us he's not going to do that until after he finished The Winds of Winter, which at this point could be months or years away. It's becoming increasingly hard to remain excited for a book that is nearly 15 years removed from its predecessor.
