So even though Killer Instinct has been out for a while now, that doesn't stop Microsoft from constantly adding characters to the game, often to the delight of the player-base, one that doesn't really show signs of dwindling. Actually Killer Instinct is almost at seven million players.

The next guest star in the fighter will be General Raam from Gears of War. At E3 Rukari Austin was kind enough to give us some details as what kind of fighter he will be:

"So General Raam is a big bully, if you will. His style is he wants to get in close to you, and do damage to you. He's not one of our characters who's going to be high combos. He's going to get in, and get out, and use his krill to his advantage. In his instinct he'll actually, when you pop, krill will come out and it swarms across the entire screen. Much like you see in Gears 1 actually, where the krill are everywhere. So when that happens, Raam deals potential damage to his enemy throughout the entire length of his instinct. That makes his combos although short but very, very, very deadly."

General Raam isn't the only character arriving in Killer Instinct. Even though we couldn't get any hints out of Austin, he did share with us that this new character will be out in July.

One other new thing Killer Instinct will receive is the new mode Shadow Lords, and this mode will really satisfy those craving some more story:

"So that's going to be more on Shadow Lords which we will have very soon. But again Shadow Lords is going to be a mode that should satiate that need for those people who really just want to come in and understand more about KI and its characters."

Check out the full interview below, as it includes exclusive gameplay captured by the devs on site in LA, and at the end shows General Raam's ultra combo.

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"Killer Instinct is a technically complicated fighter, and it's deep despite the shallow pool of characters."
