Gears of War 4 gets two new maps and Series 2 gear packs
Plus, quitters will get a temporary ban from matchmaking.
The Coalition is releasing a new Gears of War 4 update today, with several new features and content coming, including two new maps free for everyone. Players will also be able to access Series 2 gear packs, although the developer warns not to buy new gear packs before they confirm the new series content is available, even after installing the update.
If you tend to quit matches when the games are not going your way, you might want to pay attention to this new feature. As of now, anyone that quits a core or competitive match will get a temporary ban from matchmaking. The suspension will be harder on the first player to quit a game, and the penalty will decrease as players leave a match. The ban will last a maximum of 5 minutes, but The Coalition will be measuring this and promises more measures in the future.
There are several other tweaks and fixes that you can read about in the full patch notes. Do you think quitter punishments are justified?
