Gears of War might be a franchise with a history stretching back to the first release in 2006, but not everyone will be familiar with its cover shooter mechanics, and that's why The Coalition is providing a Bootcamp training mode in Gears 5 when it lands on September 10 this year.
Of course if you're a seasoned veteran you'll know all of the regular stuff like shooting, grenades, and chest-high walls for cover (a core element of the franchise), but we also get to see hit markers in action with headshots, how to counter when someone is mounting over a ledge to kick you, and an awful lot of executions in the video below.
Just yesterday we reported on a load of new details for Gears 5 multiplayer, which will scrap separate core and competitive setups, have 60Hz servers, and more. If you're still in need of more on the game though, check out our E3 preview as well, where we got to try Escape.
Will you be heading into Bootcamp to freshen up?
