Earlier this week Gearbox revealed that they were getting into the Halloween spirit with an event for Borderlands 3, and now they've revealed not only the extensive patch notes, but also plans for the future regarding the game.
Performance and stability are still the "top priorities", with a patch coming next month to address concerns in this area, although the bank is also being tweaked, with an expansion coming to double the space available. After that, even more expansions will come out over time.
The loot pools are being updated as well, ensuring more specific gear from bosses, with the team currently analysing what bosses get which gear. Character companion also getting their damage adjusted too, since players are reporting that they're not working very well, with the goal being "to make sure we have as many viable character builds as possible".
Mayhem is getting a significant revamp in the future as well, with the first update coming with Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite, the next content drop after Halloween. This includes Mayhem 4, a new level with tougher enemies, Legendary gear, and more. Further UI support, Mayhem modifiers, and rewards are also planned for the future, with Gearbox promising more information on "Mayhem 2.0" soon.
We'll be seeing more vending machines in multiple maps too, including ammo and health outside boss arenas and in bigger environments, with a full list available in the patch notes above.
Skippable cutscenes are also being investigated, and a target dummy is being added to the shooting range on Sanctuary III, in case you need to test your arsenal out.
"The list above is only a high-level look at what some of our teams are working on. Stay tuned as we continue to add more information and additions to this list. We here at Gearbox are excited about where Borderlands 3 is heading, and we look forward to showing you all the content that's still to come," Gearbox adds.
