Distributor Koch Media has today announced that Game of Thrones, the RPG game based around George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series of fantasy novels, is set for release in early-June 2012.

Developed by French Studio Cynaide, Game of Thrones will put players in control of either Mors, Sworn Brother of the Night's Watch, or Alester, a Red Priest in search of redemption. Gamers will travel familiar locations in Westeros, as they engage in a quest for the Iron Throne.

The campaign features creative input from Martin himself, and will offer the usual mix of character progression, looting/trading and combat. The game will also be powered by Unreal Engine 3 and will be available on Xbox 360, Windows PC, and PlayStation 3.
