G2 Esports is a team many would consider to be the best in the world at Rainbow Six: Siege, with their roster (formerly under Penta Sports) taking home the Six Invitational earlier this year, and this past weekend saw them add to their trophy cabinet by becoming the champions of the Six Major in Paris.

Things started strongly for G2 as they graduated top of their group with a 2-1 win against Mock-it Esports and another 2-0 win against Ninjas in Pyjamas, before they then faced DreamHack Austin winner Millenium Esports, defeating them 2-0 as well. After that they defeated another DreamHack winner, Team Secret, whose roster had claimed victory in Austin, to set them up with a final against Evil Geniuses.

If you'll remember, this was a rematch of the grand final at the Six Invitational in Montreal, and with Evil Geniuses still clearly holding onto those memories strongly (as we found out in our bootcamp interview prior to the event), it's a shame to see G2 dominate and sweep the final 3-0 to become champions.

That said, G2 deserve to be winners and EG's misery is matched only by G2's jubilation at solidifying their status as the best in the business. Did you think they'd go all the way?

"It's in competitive multiplayer where the game shines. The matches are short, intense and always surprising."
