G2 Esports has decided to make a minor change to its Counter-Strike 2 team ahead of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 tournament. With a couple of weeks until that mega event is held, G2 has decided to release Justin "jks" Savage, after the Australian professional spent the past few months on the team's bench.

G2 hasn't provided an exact reasoning behind jks' release, but the CS player has taken to X to state, "Just want to say thanks to everyone working at G2 for the time I was there. As a team we had three big tournament wins which is something I'll remember forever. I'm truly grateful for the time we spent together and wish everyone all the best for the future.

"I enjoyed some time away and I'm looking forward to new opportunities and hopefully competing at the top again sometime soon!"

Since jks has a very storied career, winning several major events with G2 and other teams before that, he will no doubt be quite the commodity for teams looking to rebuild and make a push for the pinnacle of the esport.
