G2 Esports has become a bit of a monster in the League of Legends EMEA Championship, as ever since the Summer Season last year, it has pretty much failed to win a single event in the LEC, well minus finishing third in the Spring Season this year.

But that third place result has ultimately been for nothing as G2 Esports once again proved its class over the weekend, by defeating Fnatic in the Spring Playoffs finals and claiming yet another trophy and tournament for its own.

This result has seen G2 Esports punching its ticket to the Mid-Season Invitational this year, something it actually already did when it won the Winter Playoffs back in February. While G2 will no doubt have a much bigger task on its hand to translate EMEA dominance onto the international stage, we will have to see whether it can complete a near-perfect LEC season by taking the Summer Playoffs victory in a few months time too.
