It was already public knowledge that Funcom is working on a new Conan game, but now it has been formally announced. The press release describes Conan Exiles as a survival open-world game, based on the Conan universe. Players will assume the role of an exile, who will need to survive in the tough world of Hyboria.
Apparently players will need to gather resources to build weapons, hunt animals and cultivate food, build shelters, and perform other similarly-themed tasks. Although there is a solo campaign, the game will be mostly focused on multiplayer, with public and private servers. Together, players can build bases, temples, and even sacrifice enemy players to win the favour of the gods.
Conan Exiles will be released on Steam's Early Access during the summer, with the final version scheduled for PC and "consoles" before the end of the year. Below you can watch the first trailer and some cinematic images.
