Today fans of Forza Horizon 4 are getting an interesting update adding a mode called The Eliminator, and what makes this so special is that it's combining the racing action of the series with the battle royale genre, landing for free as part of the Series 17 update.

This mode sees 72 players face off in an arena set in the open-world map, and you eliminate each other in 1v1 races to earn not only upgrades, but faster cars as well. Just like with others like Fortnite, the arena walls shrink too, forcing players to get closer and closer until there's just one winner.

Playground Games and Microsoft haven't been afraid to get creative with Forza Horizon 4, despite its emphasis on real cars and racing. The Lego Speed Champions DLC is a testament to that, turning the whole game blocky.

Is battle royale a good fit?

REVIEW. Written by Kim Orremark

"It's genuinely fun, wonderfully beautiful, fast as hell, and well-stocked with both cars and content. And it all feels very familiar."
