It's a busy time for Fortnite's competitive community, as not only did we recently find out that Epic Games is committing $100 million USD to competition prize pools in the 2018-19 competitive season, but now we also know more details about the upcoming celebrity tournament at E3.
The announcement tells us that not only will the game be in the South Hall of the LA Convention Center in Fortnite Booth 2723, but the Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am will start at 15:30 PST (23:30 BST) on June 12, with the chance to win exclusive goodies if you tune in on Mixer, Twitter, Twitch, or YouTube.
Here 50 pros and 50 celebrities will pair up to earn $3,000,000 in charity prize money, and the winning duo will get $1,000,000 of that to split and donate to charity, although it's stressed that this isn't included in the planned $100,000,000 sum dedicated to Fortnite esports.
Who's attending though? Well it's no surprise that Fortnite master Ninja (who did a record-breaking tournament himself this year) will be coming, partnering with Marshmello, but we also have Myth pairing with Paul George; Pokimane partnering with hip hop star Desiigner; YouTuber Markiplier alongside Joel Mchale; and UFC fighter Demetrious Johnson joining forces with Gotaga. Those are the only announced pairs, but there's many more in action.
Tickets will be available for purchase via an email link sent to players in the LA area, costing $10 USD, which will be sent in waves until all 3,000 are sold out. What's more is that a swag bag and free food will be available for attendees, so there's every reason to try and nab an invite.
Who can win the Pro-Am though?
