During this past week the volcano has been erupting in Fortnite's battle royale map, and now Season 9 has arrived to change the game up some more, with Neo Tilted rising from the ashes alongside new places like Peely's Banana Stand and Nugget Hut.
Slipstream wind transportation systems let you get around the map quicker, and the air vents can even take you to the new Mega Mall.
Of course a fresh Battle Pass is coming with this too, packed with over 100 exclusive rewards and costing 950 V-bucks as you'd expect. The Sentinel and Rox outfits are granted as soon as you buy it, but there are other rewards like flying disc toys and a robo kitty. Vendetta is the reward for Tier 100, a progressive outfit.
The patch notes reveal some more details on what's coming, as the combat shotgun has been added - available in Rare, Epic, and Legendary - although many weapons are vaulted, these being Clingers, Buried Treasure, Pump Shotgun, Poison Dart Trap, Scoped Revolver, Suppressed Assault Rifle, Thermal Assault Rifle, and Balloons.
We also hear about Fortbytes, a series of 100 collectible computer chips for Battle Pass owners that decrypt an image, unlocking rewards and Season 9 secrets. 18 Fortbytes are available to find today alone, and at least one more will be unlocked every day.
New Limited Time Modes are on the way as well, including Trios; Solid Gold (featuring only Legendary weapons); and One Shot with low gravity, 50 health, and snipers.
Those playing Creative aren't left out though, as futuristic prefab sets and gallery options are here, along with hover platforms to use.
Those in Save the World, however, get a new Tales of Beyond quest line to investigate the mysterious visitor that Lok claims to have seen. By doing this, you can then unlock new event-themed heroes.
