Kitfox Games has just revealed a brand new game called Fit for a King, heading to PC on September 5 and putting you in the shoes of a monarch in charge of England in 1520. It's not all about ruling though, as you have to recover gold from around a castle, collecting taxes at the same time.

There are 26 commands in the game, ranging from marry to execute, collect taxes, bless, knight, play lute, and reform Church (classic Henry VIII stuff right here). You can rewrite laws to suit your goal, and it's a sandbox game in which you do as you please in the non-linear story. There are even historical figures like Machiavelli to bump into, and a soundtrack from Visager Music, including Pastime in Good Company, a song written by Henry VIII himself.

You can check out a trailer for the game down below, and head on over to the Steam page if this has caught your eye. We're also warned of a bear in the game, whatever that means...

Will you be filling the shoes of a monarch?

REVIEW. Written by Sam Bishop

"It's a reasonably good educational tool, but more importantly it's a jolly jaunt through a world where everything's as ridiculous and entertaining as you want it to be."
