It looks like VR will finally be entering the world of eSports with the VR Challenger League presented by Intel, Oculus, and ESL. Both European and North American communities will feature regular online and offline tournaments. The online system will qualify players into offline regional events, which will then seed players into the world championships at IEM Katowice in 2018. Qualifiers will start on July 12, with weekly ESL Play cups giving competitors a chance to win prizes and points.

The new league will feature two new VR games for players to compete in. The Unspoken, will thrust players into a world of spellcasting where they face up against opposing mages in dynamic 1v1 duels.

The second title is Echo Arena, a face-paced multiplayer action title set in outer space developed by Ready At Dawn Studios. The game will be available for free on July 20 for all Oculus Rift owners.
