Nobuo Uematsu is taking a break from his work as a composer on due to ill health, as we've found out recently, having worked on many Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and a lot of other RPGs.

"I have decided to take an extended leave of absence and give my mind and body the time they need to properly mend. If I am to return, I want to do so in full health," Uematsu writes on his personal blog. "Do not worry. Once I've made a full recovery, I'll be back doing what I do best. My current plan is to rest for the remainder of the year, and while I cannot commit to a method or time frame for my return, I'm very hopeful. I deeply apologize for the burden this decision places upon both my fans and my clients, and hope that you can understand and support the path I have chosen."

Uematsu was working on the soundtracks for Granblue Fantasy Project Re:Link, the Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Project Phoenix, and in November 2016 he worked with vocalist Emiko Suzuki on the theme song for the Final Fantasy XV: Comrades expansion, which can be seen below.

We wish Uematsu a speedy recovery.
