When it was learnt that Microsoft had killed charging developers for game updates over Xbox Live, one of the immediate questions that was raised was whether Polytron would finally get round to fixing XBLA hit Fez.
The game was hit with an issue with save game corruptions, but the studio went on record to say it wouldn't release a patch, specifically because of the large costs that Microsoft charged to do so.
Commenting via his Twitter feed (and picked up by GamesIndustry Biz) creator Phil Fish stated simply: "GOOD NEWS EVERYONE: we're going to patch FEZ on XBLA!".
While no direct reason was given, it's assumed that the relaxation of Microsoft's policy has caused the team to have a change of heart - and it's seemingly not an easy process.
