Usually hall of fame slots are reserved for individuals who have retired from their respective professional careers. However, it's difficult to stick to that convention when your professional scene is and has been dominated by one individual for over a decade.

This is precisely the case for League of Legends, as Riot Games has opened its Hall of Legends by inducting T1's Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok as the inaugural member. It might seem strange to do this, but Faker is currently still competing and continuing a career that spans four world championships, two Mid-Season Invitationals, 10 League of Legends Champions Korea titles, and a bunch of individual accolades too such as being the first player in the LCK to hit a bunch of kills and assists milestones.

Needless to say, Faker's unbelievable career would have seen him enter the Hall of Legends eventually anyway so why not just buck convention and kick things off by inducting him right away? Makes sense to us.
