F1 2016 career mode "stronger than ever before"
We had a chat with Codemasters' Lee Mather on this year's F1 game and the improvements they're making.
Codemasters return with another F1 offering this year, and we caught up with principal game designer Lee Mather to learn about how they aim to improve the offering this time around.
"We wanted to bring back career, we had it in previous games, but we wanted to do it stronger than ever before this year," said Mather when asked about the career mode. "We wanted to build what we consider the richest, deepest career mode that we could get in this year."
"Because of that we wanted the player to feel really invested in what they're doing in the game, so we have an avatar at the start of the game where you get to pick how you're visibly represented in the game. Then you get to pick a crash helmet, and you get to choose the colour combinations that you have on that helmet, and then assign a number to your car so that's a very personal thing to you. And then you've got those things to take through your career that can last for at least ten seasons. It's certainly one of the longest careers we've had ever."
Codemasters' F1 2016 will launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 19.
