We caught up Turtle Rock's co-founder, Phil Robb, in Santa Monica, and he had plenty to tell us about the studio's next multiplayer game, Evolve.

We talked to Robb about the classes and different perks they'll have (at least, we talked about what's already been announced), and we also discussed the different ways that we'll be able to play.

"You can play the game, really, honestly, any way that you want," Turtle Rock's co-founder told us. "If you are the kind of person who, you know, just is not comfortable with online, you can set it up where you can play against any number of bots, against any number of AIs. If the four of us wanted to play on the same team, but we don't have a monster, well the four of us can go up against an AI monster..."

"Ultimately the game is a multiplayer experience at its heart," he continued. "We want to make sure that people who, for whatever reason, aren't comfortable with just jumping online and playing with strangers or whatever, can sort of customise this experience to sort of fit their tastes."

We then asked if that meant we'll be able to create our own game modes, to which Robb replied: "We do have some awesome options that will be available that will allow you to tweak the conditions of your game..."

"It will be a very flexible experience... It's not so much that you're making your own game modes as it is; you're setting up your experience for your own tastes, and making sure that you have fun, no matter what."

REVIEW. Written by Ingo Delinger

"Evolve is certainly not a game for everyone, but fans of innovative, strategic action will not be disappointed. It feels innovative and extremely exciting."
