Those in the fighting game community (FGC) will know that Evo is the biggest event of the year for these games, hosting the best players in the world as they compete across various titles, and now this year's installment is over and plenty of champions have been crowned.

Over in Dragon Ball FighterZ there was a showdown between Goichi 'GO1' Kishida vs. Dominique 'SonicFox' McLean, and it was GO1 who won the battle, resulting in an emotional moment as he became the victor, being comforted by his opponent during the tears.

That wasn't the only time we saw SonicFox in action though, as he was actually the winner of the Mortal Kombat 11 tournament, facing Ryan 'Dragon' Walker in the grand final. Elsewhere in Soul Calibur 6, Zain 'Bluegod' Tibeishat took down Yuta 'Yuttoto' Sudo in that final, with Ryota 'Kazunoko' Inoue beating Seon-Woo 'Infiltration' Lee in Samurai Shodown at the event too.

In Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st], ClearLamp took down Oushuu-hittou for the trophy, with Shinku winning in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle over Kyamei.

Perhaps the three biggest events were Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (which broke Evo signup records), and Tekken though. In Capcom's game, Masato 'Bonchan' Takahashi won the trophy over Adel 'Big Bird' Anouche, while Tekken's champion was Arslan Ash, who beat Knee in the grand final. Lastly, in Nintendo's fighting game, Leonardo 'MkLeo' Lopez was the winner after facing Gavin 'Tweek' Dempsey.
