In all the international competitions for Pro Evolution Soccer - whether that be the PES League or elsewhere like eFootball.Pro's league - one name comes up time and time again - Ettorito, the Italian player who became world champion last year, both in solo and coop.

It should come as no surprise then to hear that he won another big PES League event again this past Saturday, this being the first European final of the season, which took place in Liverpool and brought together 14 of the best players from the old continent (although Iranian Hassan__pes and Turkish Mucahit21 had to withdraw after having visa issues). The Italian flew over the competition from start to finish, completing his triumph with a cool 4-0 in the final against S-Venom.

The German can find comfort in the fact that he demonstrated a lot of character, notably against one of the best players of the last seasons, the French player Tiomit, whom he defeated in the semi-finals (5-2).

The return to a system of qualification by country - and not on a European scale like last year - made the tournament even more universal and provided the opportunity to see two representatives of the United Kingdom with TheWezzatron & No1Pirate, although they weren't able to get past the group stage. A special note finally goes to the great performance by the Serbian kepapfc1994, with his very pleasant offensive game, although he too had to bow down too against Ettorito (in the semi-finals on the score of 4-2).

The day before the regional final in 1v1, the four best European teams of the coop mode also had a showdown in Liverpool. The defending world champions - Broken Silence - easily dominated AS Monaco esports (5-1) in the final, after having already crushed them in group stage (4-1). Composed of the two best players of the past season, the Italian Ettorito Giannuzzi and the Spaniard Alex Alguacil, the team has shown once again why there are to be feared.

The two finalists of the 1v1, as well as Broken Silence, earned their tickets for the grand world final scheduled at the end of the season, probably for next June. The next offline appointment will probably be organised during the first quarter of next year too, with no specific date or venue yet.

Meanwhile, many of the players who attended this weekend in Liverpool will have the opportunity to dive into the eFootball.Pro League, the competition created by Gerard Piqué. The second date for this is planned for Barcelona on January 19, so we don't have to wait long for more PES.

Is Ettorito going to dominate the whole season?

"This year's PES is brilliant on the ball, but there's still some work to be done behind the scenes."
