The British Esports Association has teamed up with British defence and security experts QinetiQ for an event at London's Science Museum on September 25 from 18:45 BST to 22:00 BST, looking at the connections between cybersecurity and esports.

"Could the future of online security come from the exciting and growing world of competitive video gaming?"

That's what this initiatvive is asking, and attendees can play Rocket League matches commentated by BEA volunteers, also getting the chance to find out how gaming can allow careers in cybersecurity and technology.

Chester King, CEO of the British Esports Association, said: "We're excited to partner with QinetiQ and explore the parallels between esports and cyber security, and how it may be a career path for gamers."

"Rocket League is a great way of engaging an audience and we look forward to seeing many of you getting involved on the night."

Is this a good idea to raise awareness around tech careers?
