It was a great early tournament for AdreN and YNk, and saw them battle intensely with Cloud9 for the win.

It's already been a busy year for CS:GO esports, as last week Team Liquid lifted the iBUYPOWER Masters trophy, and now FaZe Clan has added to their success with a win at the Eleague Invitational event.

This was a good event for stand-in player Dauren 'AdreN' Kystaubayev and new coach Janko 'YNk' Paunović to prove themselves, and that's exactly what they did. That said, things didn't get off to a great start, as they lost in two overtime maps to Cloud9 first of all to fall into the losers bracket.

This is where their fortunes changed though, as they brushed CompLexity aside 16-12 on Train and 16-2 on Cache to set up a match with BIG, who they beat 2-1. This meant they faced a rematch with Cloud9 in the final, and while Cloud9 took the first map on Mirage, FaZe brought it back on Inferno and Train to secure the title.

This means the team walks away with $80,000 USD and a whole load of confidence as we gear up for the IEM Katowice Major competition happening until March. Can FaZe Clan do well there?
