While the Blast Pro Series was going on in Istanbul another big CS:GO competition was happening in New York City, as Brooklyn's Barclays Center hosted ESL One New York this past weekend, with Mousesports lifting the title after a week of action.

Mousesports advanced top of their group with two wins and no losses, as did their grand final opponents, Team Liquid, meaning they faced NRG Esports in the semi-finals. Despite the score being 2-0 when the dust settled, NRG put up a decent fight against Mousesports - much more than Gambit did in their semi-final against Liquid.

The closest match was the grand final though, as Mousesports struck first with a 16-12 win on Cache, before Liquid responded with back-to-back map wins on Nuke and Inferno. Lucky for Mousesports this was a best-of-five, and with a nail-biting overtime win of 19-17 on Dust II to level the score, they went on to win Mirage and the entire event.

It wasn't a dream story for all the teams though, as FaZe and NaVi disappointed in this competition, especially the latter, since they came from being finalists at the Faceit Major to losing all but one of their matches in New York.

Did you expect Mousesports to win?
