The Blast Pro Series CS:GO competition is due to head to Istanbul this year, but now we've found out via a new announcement that a snap election has been called in Turkey by President Erdogan on the exact date of the event, meaning that the tournament is being rescheduled.

The event will still be held at the Ülker Sports Arena, but will take place on September 29 this year, after lengthy discussions with authorities. Jordi Roig, Executive Producer of Blast Pro Series, had this to say on the decision:

"We have worked with local authorities, the ambassadors from both countries, local partners, broadcasters, the venue, all teams and their management to keep our promise to the Turkish fans. It was obvious we could not maintain the original date, but through the great support from everybody involved, we have been able to move everything around and have reserved Ülker Sports Arena in September, the EP of Blast Pro Series continues."

The group stages will kick off on September 28, but the grand finals and decisive group stages matches will be played in the arena on the stage, with tickets to witness these matches already available at this link. If you've already bought a ticket and can't go to this new date, however, you can contact ticket provider Mobilet for a refund, which can't be claimed after July 1.

Are you bothered by the switch in dates?
