Esports company FirstBlood has revealed the FirstBlood PUBG Invitational tournament for, you guessed it, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and here 16 of the best North American teams are invited to compete for $1,000 USD of physical prizes, with teams like Cloud9 and eUnited already confirmed as attending.

The tournament will be hosted on FirstBlood's Twitch channel on February 17, and although not all the teams are confirmed, the last few additions will be revealed in the coming days. What's more is that FirstBlood also revealed that PUBG will be coming to their platform over the next few months, allowing players of all abilities to compete against one another, with a beta for this being launched soon.

"We are extremely excited and proud to be hosting the FirstBlood PUBG Invitational," said FirstBlood CEO Joe Zhou. "PUBG, a game we at FirstBlood constantly talk about, and one you'll all too often find being played internally at our Boston HQ, has exploded. We couldn't wait to extend our previous success in hosting Dota 2 events to PUBG. In BITS America's, we saw Dota 2 star, BSJ (BananaSlamJamma) formerly of Team Leviathan take home the title against Team Sacred in an epic best of five series. We look forward to seeing exciting plays by the very best while bringing together an ever growing community in PUBG. We also hope to be able to work with Bluehole to offer cash prizes for future events."

You can find more details about the competition over at its official website. Do you like that we're getting a lot of PUBG competitions this year?
