A new developer diary from Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan has given loads of new information about the esports side of the game, and among the new features is an improvement for spectatorship.

Kaplan revealed that the team colour palette system will change, with teams having uniforms/skins with characters, both home and away, and the entire UI will work around that, hopefully making it easier to tell who you're watching at any one time.

Smart cameras will also be included for observers too, making camera movement smoother. Also, instant replays will be available for broadcasters too, so they can replay moments in the match for viewers.

On top of all of this is a tournament interface, allowing broadcasters to set everything up ahead of time. It also automatically pauses a game when a player disconnects from the match. More is in development too, but these are just the ones that Kaplan has to announced right now.

We'll see these features at the Overwatch World Cup at BlizzCon, and you can even watch a video to get yourself hyped for it.

What do you make of these changes?
