It seems as if there's something going on in the Overwatch scene right now, as Splyce has become the latest organisation to drop their entire Overwatch roster, this coming after compLexity Gaming and TSM have both done the same in the last week.

Splyce's CEO and co-founder Marty Strenczewilk posted a video on YouTube updating fans on the future of the organisation in terms of Overwatch, and he said: "Today I'm here to announce that Splyce is going to be releasing our Overwatch team as we take a step back from the scene. We've been thinking about this for a couple of weeks now as we explored the options around competitive Overwatch right now, what's out there for teams competing and investment into new infrastructure."

He also added that if they were to invest more money into the game that they wouldn't really know what exactly they'd be investing their money into. "Overwatch League still seems like a really great opportunity that we're interested in exploring," he continued, "but it feels a ways out. We still have some time before the Overwatch League is really going to be forefront [...] we feel that, at least for the time being, it's got some time before it's going to affect us at Splyce."

Strenczewilk also said that there isn't much competitive Overwatch these days, and that this has been a struggle for the players, sponsors, etc. It certainly isn't set in stone that they won't compete in Overwatch again, however, he emphasised. Do you think the Overwatch League is doing more harm than good, or isn't it that big an impact in the grand scheme of things?
