As reported by MCV, the Esports Industry Awards celebrated the best of esports last night, and Overwatch nabbed one of the big prizes for New Esports Game of the Year.

The event was hosted at The Brewery in London, and 46,000 people watched the 14 awards given out, with 39,000 messages sent on Twitch.

The UK Esports Player of the Year award went to Call of Duty veteran Callum "Swanny" Swan, who currently plays for Millenium after spells at various other teams before that. Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barqawi nabbed the award for Esports Rookie of the Year as well, and CS:GO commentator Auguste "Semmler" Massonnat claimed Esports Broadcaster of the Year.

In terms of events, The International 6 won the prize for Esports Live Event of the Year, and on the team side of things Team EnVyUs claimed Esports Team of the Year.

In terms of the biggest prize, however, which was Esports Game of the Year, it'll surely be no surprise to many that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive took the honour, with many big tournaments like DreamHack: Las Vegas and the Eleague Major already taking place this year.

Do you agree with all of the victors?
