The Eleague Major took place, as you know, a few weeks back, and the official stats from Turner have been released (via Gamurs), revealing some interesting facts about viewership for the incredibly popular competition.

The one thing that was obvious before the release of the stats was the enormous viewership the finals generated, having over one million viewers at its peak, which is the first time that viewership has reached a number of this size on Twitch.

Whilst we're on the subject of Twitch, during the entire seven days that the event was on for, it was the number one channel on the platform. Across YouTube Gaming, TBS, Twitch and GOTV, viewers were watching for 2.4 billion minutes throughout the tournament.

The social media presence of 2017's first major reached collossal numbers throughout the week that the Eleague Major was running as well, gathering over 45 million shares and posts across Facebook and Twitter.

What event could possibly compete with these figures this year?
