Danish Counter-Strike team Astralis recently brought on Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye as a replacement for René "cajunb" Borg, and he's been kicking ass and taking names in all Astralis' matches since.

But the signing of Kjaerbye came with a catch for the team. Seeing as he recently competed for Team Dignitas at DreamHack Tours, which was a Valve-sponsored Minor championship, Valve's roster rules prevent Astralis from fielding him at the next Major championship, ESL One Cologne.

The rules state that a player who attended a Minor with a team can only play with that same team at the following Major. That leaves Kjaerbye out of ESL One Cologne, and Astralis are forced to play with a stand-in.

Astralis announced that stand-in today. Stepping into Kjaerbye's shoes is Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander from Copenhagen Wolves.

Kjaerbye remains in the Astralis starting line-up, but the team will bootcamp with gla1ve after the ECS finals are over in order to prepare for ESL One Cologne.

Team captain Finn "karrigan" Andersen has high praise for gla1ve, who he previously played with on Copenhagen Wolves in 2014. He says:

"I feel confident that gla1ve is the right fit for us. I know that he is good at adapting to new roles and he has a high skill ceiling. He will bring some experience to the table as well and if I know him right, he will do everything in his power to show that he is still a top class player."

ESL One Cologne takes place on July 5-10, and features a $1 million prize pool.
