ESL is once again bringing its ESL One series of competitions to Resorts World Genting in Malaysia, with ESL One Genting 2018 taking place from January 23 to 27 and hosting 16 of the top Dota 2 teams in the world, who will battle it out for a $400,000 USD prize pool as well as 400 qualifying points, which should help towards going to The International next year.
Some of the teams for the competition will be filled by invites, while the others will take part in regional qualifiers to get there. In terms of format, the grand final will be best of 5, whereas it will be single-elimination best of 3 matches before that.
"After this year's successful kick-off with our flagship series ESL One, which was held for the very first time at the Arena of Stars in Malaysia, we already knew that it wouldn't be our last event in Genting. The Southeast Asian Dota 2 community showed us what real passion looks like and provided us with one of the key factors to create a legendary esports event: atmosphere," said Ulrich Schulze, Senior Vice President of Product at ESL. "We found a strong and reliable partner with Resorts World Genting and together we are looking forward to make ESL One Genting 2018 even bigger and better than last time."
Tickets are on sale today, but do you think this event can top the last one?
