Erik Wolpaw has left Valve

He worked on Half-Life, Portal, and more.

Erik Wolpaw has worked as a writer on some pretty big games, including not only Half-Life and Portal, but also the great zombie shooter Left 4 Dead. He'll surely be missed, then, as former Valve man Marc Laidlaw confirmed on Twitter that Wolpaw is leaving Valve.

"@Wolpaw left Valve so I can now insult him freely without damaging the company's reputation. He's a comic genius and a true original," Laidlaw tweeted.

The news is also confirmed via Facebook, where Erik Wolpaw's profile shows that he has parted ways with Valve.

What's your favourite project from Wolpaw (he was also a co-writer on Psychonauts)?
