Ivan Toney, 30-year-old English striker, currently playing for the Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, previously at Brentford and Newcastle United, has been charged with assault that caused bodily harm, said London's Metropolitan Police on Friday, relating an incident that happened on December 6, 2025, at a nightclub on Wardour Street.

"Ivan Toney, 30, of Northampton, was charged on Thursday, 31 July with assault causing actual bodily harm. He will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 24 September", said the police statement.

A spokesperson of the player said that "Ivan acknowledges the charge and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court."

Toney also made an appearance with England during their final two games in the World Cup: as a late substitute in the defeat against Argentina in the semi-final and as a starter in the 6-4 win against France for the third place.
