Elder Scrolls Online players "can't get enough of dragons"

We spoke with Elder Scrolls Online's game director Matt Firor before the release of the Elseyr chapter of the MMO earlier this year, and we actually got the chance to catch up with him again at E3, where we talked about the cinematic trailer we witnessed at Bethesda's press conference.

"This year actually we really wanted to do something different with our cinematic trailers and have them tell the story of the story, and so the first one was how the dragons got unleashed on Elsweyr, and of course when you play the teaser quest for it you found out you were helping the two characters unleash the dragons on Elsweyr, and you get to do that same thing," he explained.

"The trailer that we just released at BE3 [...] was the continuation of that story and that's what happens and it shows kind of how combat against a dragon goes and shows the necromancer abilities [...] but it ended on another cliffhanger because they killed one dragon but one got away, so we'll continue that later."

We also talked about engagement during our conversation, and it seems like there's been a spike since it launched:

"100% yes we have seen a huge spike of players logging in and coming back, like they can't get enough of dragons [laughs]."
