EA has not been particularly active in the remaster frenzy that has emerged in the industry in recent years, but it seems that this could be about to change. Someone at Game Informer got chatting with Patrick Soderlund, Executive Vice President of EA Studios, during Gamescom in Germany, and this is what he had to say on a subject that previously the publisher hadn't expressed much interest in:
"What's changed is that there is proof in the market that people want it, maybe more than there was when we spoke," Sodurland said when asked about Mass Effect. "There were some that did it before, but I think there is even more clear evidence that this is something that people really want. The honest answer is that we are absolutely actively looking at it. I can't announce anything today, but you can expect us most likely to follow our fellow partners in Activision and other companies that have done this successfully."
If there's going to be any old-gen remasters, surely the Mass Effect trilogy would be top of the list for many, many people (including us). What other old-gen EA games would you like to see getting an update if and when they start making announcements?
