Techland has just released some brand new content for their zombie game Dying Light, called Content Drop #0, which acts as a prelude for their previously announced 10 free DLC drops within the next year.
Content Drop #0 is available now for PC versions of the game, with console players getting it in September, alongside the 'first' free DLC, and includes a new faction of soldiers in Old Town; a new enemy called the Mutated Goon; the new Hunted player outfit; and the Harran Military rifle weapon. All of this is available by updating to the latest version of the game.
That's not all Techland had to announce, though, as they've also launched their "community-focused digital distribution platform" by the name of Gemly, which features exclusive content for the game, including the Harran Military rifle. It's also a digital store featuring third party publishers and Techland games, and will soon include a community hub for Techland fans. What's more is that Gemly is also offering a 60% discount on Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition via their website, meaning it now costs £15.99 on PC.
"We have created Gemly as part of our wish to be closer to our fans and unite the whole Techland community in one place," said Paweł Marchewka, Techland's CEO. "At the same time, we want to keep our fans engaged and entertained - with Dying Light's Content Drop #0 we're paving the way for incredible experiences, offering new challenges and mysteries for our fans."
Players who want to create a Gemly account will receive personalised newsletters, exclusive offers, and development updates about Techland games for doing so, and the platform will be expanded with new features in the future, like a support page and statistics system for their titles.
Below you can see not only a trailer of Content Drop #0, but also our interview with Techland's Joe Bognar from E3, where we discuss the new content and what's coming in them. Will you be jumping back into the game to try Content Drop #0?
