DreamHack reveals groups and schedule for Malmö Masters

DreamHack has unveiled both the group drawings and the schedule for next week's DreamHack Masters Malmö tournament.

The 16 participating teams have been seeded and drawn into four groups based on recent performance and world rankings. Two teams from each group will move on to the playoffs.

In the build-up to the event, DreamHack has played up the Sweden vs Denmark angle, given that the two countries historically have been among the very best in Counter-Strike. With Fnatic pulling out of the tournament due to injuries that angle becomes less interesting, but we'll still see plenty of viking-on-viking action, as both Danish teams (Astralis and Dignitas) have been grouped up with Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Teams to look out for include Brazilian side Tempo Storm, who made a very strong showing at IEM Katowice last month. FaZe Clan didn't do well at last week's MLG Columbus Major, and team captain and founder Maikelele announced his departure immediately after the tournament ended. No word yet on who's replacing him. Godsent, known as Team Ancients until recently, includes former Fnatic players Pronax and Znajder and have been making waves on the Swedish scene recently. This will be their first showing at a premier tournament.
