Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is due for release in January, bringing the story of the anime to life in an RPG, and now a new trailer is here that's all about characters that are not only playable, but also those that support Goku and friends on their journey.

Those who are familiar with the franchise will recognise plenty, like Krillin and Tien, who are AI-controlled and can help you out in the heat of battle. They have their own special moves and combos to pull off as well, and you can also utilise these when playing as Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan, among others.

This doesn't just apply to the main story either, as side missions can be specific to certain characters as well, and you can hunt, eat, and talk to NPCs with these other characters too.

Last month the game's RPG mechanics were introduced in a new video, so things are starting to take shape ahead of release.
