Doom Eternal's Battlemode shown off in new gameplay trailer

If you want to know more about the new asymmetric multiplayer mode then id Software has prepared a gameplay-filled trailer that talks you through the basics.

Battlemode is a new 2vs1 multiplayer mode coming to Doom Eternal, and in it, two demon-controlling players will take on an over-powered Slayer with enough the guns and unlocks to put any hell-beasts he encounters to the sword.

The Slayer's experience will somewhat mirror that of the main campaign, which means that they'll be using different attacks and finishers to get the health, shields, and ammo required to win as they try to aggressively manage the battlefield. The twist here is that other players will control two of the five playable demons set to feature in the mode. These demons can drop traps to hinder the Slayer-player, utilise additional demonic allies, and restrict the Slayer's resources.

On top of the five playable demons, there's going to be six maps, and you can get a taste of what the mode will offer in the trailer below, which includes gameplay first shown during QuakeCon.
